So, It's been a while since I've updated... not too much to report. I went home for Christmas break and spent some rather depressing time with the family. Christmas this year just wasn't what it usually is with my Grandma being sick - we actually basically called it off.

I guess the best part of going home was getting to spend some time with Mark. We actually saw each other more in those few days than I've seen him since last summer. Monday we spent the day in Charlotte - dinner at PF Changs, hit up the apple store, the new mall, and Birkdale Village. With any luck this Friday were supposed to go see our friend Timmothy play in Greensboro.

Will has travelled across the world to Vietnam for the next couple of weeks. He emailed me today - I was really glad to hear from him. He's having a great time and writing in the journal I got him for Christmas daily. :) I'm looking forward to him planting his feet back in NC... can't wait to see him.

We had a really great night on the Thursday before he left. We exchanged Christmas presents and drove around Charlotte for a few hours and then ended up in his driveway talking. I figured out I have a great capacity for blocking things out of my memory that I don't want to remember. I guess the past is just that, though, and I should just forget it and move on.

Other than that I've spent the week after Christmas just working. It's been really good to get some hours in at work... much needed money. I went and saw King Kong last night with Jason. It was nice getting to spend some time with him - great guy - very bright. He just found out that he got into Cornell - yet he still plans on going to NC State in the fall - which is where my bro intends on being.

New Year's is approaching and I'm wishing that Will was going to be here. I'd really love to go out and do something with him. I think Suzanne, Kiffin and I are going to try and get something together... so hopefully it will be fun.

Other than that, things are quiet. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE.

Great Expectations

How do you know your falling in love with someone….?

  1. The thought of them pops into your head at least every minute of the day

  2. Their voice is the sweetest sound you’ve ever heard in your life… everything they say is a sweet nothing

  3. When you look into their eyes its so intense that you want to burst into tears

  4. Every second you spend with them makes you want to spend two more

  5. When you kiss them it makes everything disappear but you and that person… for a moment, the whole world is perfect

  6. Whenever its time for them to leave you wish you could pause time and hold them in your arms at least till forever

  7. They make you feel like you could conquer the entire world

  8. They make time feel like a burden

  9. Laying in their arms is the most relaxing, calm, and secure feeling you’ve ever experienced

  10. Knowing that the next time you see them is going to be even better than the last!

G'night... sleep tight...

Wheww!  Busy day.

So I traveled home to Elkin this afternoon to see the church play.  Mom and Maddie were both in it.  Very cute!  I miss my little sister so much these days.  She’s growing up so quickly and I feel bad for not being a part of that.

Got to spend a little bit of time with my Grandma.  Things continue basically as before… just seems to be getting a little weaker as time goes on.

I saw my Aunt Shelia… well, great aunt… but she’s always just been Aunt Shelia to me.  I MISS MY FAMILY SO MUCH.  Ugh!  It is nice to return home on the occasion and see everyone.  A trip to Speedy Chef and WalMart usually does the trick – you see have your relatives and friends.

After the church play I took Dad back home so he could stay with Mema, and then I went to Speedy Chef to hang with Mark, Sarah, and JB.  I walked in the door and immediately started getting bombarded by the hugs.  I guess sometimes its not so bad being from such a small town – you definitely feel the love.  I just wonder sometimes if they knew about me if the love would still be there…

Seeing Mark was great.  I miss spending time with him so much.  He’s one of those people that has some sorta influence on basically everyone he comes in contact with.  He did a lot for me… and probably doesn’t even realize it.  He’s one of those people that I’d do pretty much anything for.

But now it’s off to bed with me… a full work week awaits me.

Good night everyone… I LOVE YOU!

TIME FOR A LITTLE R&R - FINALLY

IT’S OVER… STUDIO IS FINALLY OVER.  IM FINISHED FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH!!!!  LET THE PARTYING BEGIN – OH WAIT… ITS STARTED SEVERAL WEEKS AGO.  THIS IS PROBABLY WHY I DIDN’T HAVE MY THESIS DOCUMENT FINISHED ON TIME.  HAHA!

Huge sigh of relief…

Ok… so what’s been going on???  Not much really.  This past Thursday night was my Christmas party at work.  OH SO NICE.  They reserved 2 rooms for us at the Charlotte Country Club on the same night the new UNCC Chancellor was being inaugurated.  There were butt-loads of people there.

The CCC is really nice.  My friend Gretchen (oh my gosh I love you so much gurl!!!) was one of our servers, so I introduced her to all the important people last night.  Gretchen is one of the very few studio people whom I’ve remained friends with since freshman year.  Most people have a way of getting on my nerves after a while and … yea well, I get bored easily by stupid people.

After we conversed for several hours it was finally dinner time.  YUMMY!  I had a filet mignon, with potatoes and asparagus.  The salad there was phenomenal – or maybe I was just drunk and hungry.  HAHA!  And for desert they had a nice chocolate sorbet with strawberries.  I think over the course of the evening I had about 10 glasses of wine – so I was pretty relaxed and good to go.

Joddy, one of the owners took a liking to the drunken Jason.  LOL!   It was great.  At one point after dinner he pulled me over to the side and he and Victor ganged up on me on all the reasons that I should go to New York.  I must say they had very convincing arguments – and promised me a position on my return to the Queen City.

The awards ceremony was delightful.  HAHA!  Bill, one of our temporary marketing directors put together what were called the “Bobby” awards in which I received “The Ralph Lauren Dress for Success Award.”  On acceptance of the interview at JPA, I called Tyke and asked him if this would be a formal meeting or relaxed.  He said very relaxed, thus, I wore my sandals.  BIG MISTAKE.

Jason Gentry, who showed up for his job interview wearing jeans and sandals, thereby proving that if you look like a slob, you’re going to wind up working at a place like Jenkins-Peer.

It was definitely worth it however – because my award got a standing ovation and the biggest laughs.  I LOVE BEING LOVED.

Once they were trying to kick us out Joddy puts his arm around my neck and proceeds to give me a tour of the place.  I’ve been there before, but it was several years ago, and after JPA had done the remodel and addition.  So we go downstairs flipping on all the lights being loud and very obnoxious and Joddy is showing me around… lol… turn around and there’s two cops starring at us.  They then saw it was Joddy and all was cool.  The surprising thing was… there wasn’t a single one of us that wasn’t totally shit-faced… and they knew we were driving home… yet nothing was said.  LOL.

Oh, and I must say I socialized with every single person there – and of those conversations – the one with the wives was the best.  I guess I truly am gay – I love women gossip.  It’s amazing what you can find out.

From there we all left and I called my Willster who expressed concern about my driving under the influence.  IM SORRY.  I really shouldn’t have done that, I know.  But the fact that you cared enough to say that to me… I’m totally falling for you!

Will was having a party himself at his lake house which I hate that I missed.  I wanted to meet all of his friends and spend as much possible time with him over break as I can.  I don’t know that I’ve ever looked so forward to seeing one individual in my life.  And its not because were always going and doing things – I just truly value the time that we spend together.  It’s simple and real – perfect.

After I hung up with Will I called my mommy.  HAHA!!!  I told her of the night’s festivities and then she made me stay on the phone with her till I got home.  Apparently I talk rather loud when intoxicated.  But my mom is awesome!  Love her to death.

So now that studio is over I have three things on my list of stuff to accomplish over break…
  1. SLEEP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

  2. WORK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
And most importantly
  1. SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS POSSIBLE WITH WILL

Ahh… this is going to be a great Christmas break… I can just feel it.

DAVID WALTER'S IS THE COOLEST!!!

HAHA!!!  For all those inquiring… here is the email sent at PARTY PARTY PARTY… part Christmas.  LOL.  Gotta love it.

To:  David Walters
Subject:  We Miss You Daddy

Dear Mr. British Man,

Your presence has been missed here at the Christmas party.  There were people invading our space and we needed your position of 'power' to remove their unwantedness.  Even though you are physically not here, your spirit lingers as the topic of our discussions.  We appreciate what you did (especially Amber).

Your discombobulated students,

Jason, Jeff, Amber, Randy, & Mariam

Has Anybody Seen the Wand?

Wow!  The party was a huge success.  Every time I have these things I always get worried that people won’t show up… and there were a few that I thought would have and didn’t (Sophia, Suzanne, JB, Gretchen, and Todd just to call out a few -  you guys suck!).  LOL!!!

It was so cool because this was like my first grown-up party.  The others were a lot bigger but nowhere near as cool as this one.  The food was fantastic – especially Kiff’s apple/cranberry crumb dessert.  OH SO GOOD!

Amber and I emailed David after we got drunk telling him we missed him… LOL.  Quite funny.  Haven’t yet received a response.  I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

And then apparently Will and I were the highlight of the evening for those who stayed late, which is quite appropriate.  He was definitely the highlight of my entire weekend.

I’m still going to post those pics from the last blog… I just have to downsize them and I haven’t yet had time to.

Tomorrow starts back into the routine of things.  I’m going to work everyday this week hopefully!  I definitely need the cash.

Ahh… the holidays.  Such a perfect time to have a perfect boyfriend.  :0)

The Semester in Flames

Ahh… a sigh of relief.  My studio presentation went well.  No big shockers… all comments were pretty expected minus the one from Rich Priess… “I’m a little concerned about how polished your presentation is.”  WTF???

I went back to work today, which was nice.  Todd picked on me for the majority of the day saying I had no right to say anything being I only worked one day a week now.  HAHA!  I LOVE TODD!  He annoys most people but our sarcastic humors match very well.  I sold my old iPod to Victor for $140.  Not to bad.  He’s giving it to his 8 year old son for Christmas… with my name on the back of it.  Whatever floats your boat.  And Jody was amazingly nice today.  He’s one of the owners and one of those people that you rarely catch on a good day.  But we seem to have stuck a nice cord since Charles Gwathmey’s visit.  I think he was pretty impressed hearing me talk to Charles so intellectually.  LOL!  I like impressing people with my knowledge.  I know, I’m a dork.

After work we had our annual Fall Commencement Ceremony at the COA.  It kinda made me sad.  I’m realizing more and more how much I’m really going to miss that place.  I mean… GEEZ… I’ve spent 5 years of my life in that building.  It’s more like home than my apartment is.  But we had our burning of the models ritual post Mark Morris and his words of confusing wisdom.

Cathy and I are going to Amber’s b-day party Friday night, which should be most interesting.  I’ve found a new love for Amber.  We’ve got pretty close this semester.  IM GOING TO MISS YOU GURL!!!  And lets not forget… “He kicked him in the penis and he was injured… he was injured bad.”  I can’t wait for our road trip to HOTLANTA!

I now have a BSI model that I must endure for the next few hours.  BLAH!!!  But I leave you with some pictures to enjoy!!!

The End is Never Really In Sight...

Studio is coming to an end.  Today at 2pm I present the culmination of an entire semesters worth of work – but more than that I present the culmination of talents and an education of the past 5 years of my life.  It’s a little intimidating to think that I have 30 minutes to say all of that.

I feel pretty confident going in, however.  I think I’ve produced a lot of good work over the past few weeks in preparation for today.  And hopefully with any luck, serving the wine with my presentation will be a little added extra.  Maybe I’ll get an A+ instead of just an A this semester.  HAHA!

It’s a huge relief to think that studio is over.  Everything else, although time consuming in themselves, are nothing compared to the stress I’ve engaged the past week.

After the presentation tonight I’m going out with Rick, Eric – and probably a few other studio tag-a-longs.  With any luck I’ll have to get a cab to take me back home.  LOL!

Still anticipating the big party next Saturday!!!  It’s taking a lot of planning and coordinating.  I’ve never had such an organized and … I guess you could say formal party before.  It’s definitely costing a lot more than I thought too.  But it’s SO going to be worth it.

But I’m off to studio now to prepare my presentation.  Just a few short hours and I get to take a break from this project for an entire month – well, minus the document that we have to produce.

But for all of you who I’ve somewhat ignored the past week – I’m sorry and I can once again hang out!!!  YAY!!!   Call me soon … well, after 6pm.  : 0 )

PARTY PARTY PARTY part Christmas!!!

Quick update… here’s what’s going on.

Christmas party at work in on December 15th at the Charlotte Country Club.  I’m able to take a guest… and I know who I want to take – but it’s a sticky situation so we’ll have to see.  : )

Christmas party at my place on December 10th.  It was going to be small but I keep inviting people – “The more the merrier!”

Studio review is on December 5th.  Cram time is officially underway.  No – or very light sleep from now until then.

Cathy and I decorated yesterday and bought a lot of the party supplies.  The apartment officially reeks of Chrimstas – I LOVE IT!!  Haha!

The Christmas cards went out today for the most part.  I still have a couple left to write… so if you don’t get yours in the next couple of days – it’s on its way.

Due to a few friends of mine I’ve decided to set up a mail stop at my place.  LOL!  If you need to store Christmas presents or just have those somewhat debatable packages you don’t want to arrive at you address, just let me know.
